Chronosync + the iCloud Obsidian folder

What I’m trying to do

I had been using a mobile-to-desktop sync workflow that fits my needs. However, something has changed lately that broke it.

  • I use a “mobile” vault stored in iCloud (my main vault is stored in my HD, I don’t want to upload it to iCloud).
  • I would make notes on my phone and sync them to my desktop vault using Chronosync (demo version, since the number changes is not so big)
  • The left target was my desktop, and the right one was the iCloud Folder (set as a mounted volume)
  • Lately, Chronosync showed an error stating that I now needed to use the “iCloud Storage connector”
  • I switched the connector, but the Obsidian iCloud folder is not shown in the list!

Here’s a screenshot of the problem:

I’m not sure if it is a “me”, a “chronosync” or a “mac” problem. Has anyone else had this same issue?

Thanks

Things I have tried

  • I’ve tried using the “Mounted volumes” option on the right target but Chronosync says it is an incorrect target.
  • I’ve tried contacting Chronosync’s support but gotten no answer in the past three weeks.

I just had the same problem. I switched the “iCloud” target to “mounted volume”, then dismissed the Chronosync message prompting me to switch back to “iCloud”, and hey: it syncs again.

I have zero idea why the Obsidian folder was invisible in Chronosync when selecting “iCloud”.
