Checklist or tasklist doesn't create

What I’m trying to do

Trying to create a checklist like in Logseq. I believe Obsidian’s lingo is Tasklist.

Things I have tried

The Obsidian website (can’t paste link due to noob limitations) for Task lists says:
To create a task list, start each list item with a hyphen and space followed by [ ].
When I type hyphen → space → open square bracket → close square bracket → a bullet point appears left of the square brackets.

I checked YouTube too, but no luck.

I’m using Obsidian version: v1.8.10 (Installer version: v1.5.12).

Hi @eiger3970 ,

Fellow user here. To create a task line item in Obsidian, you need a space between the brackets, like so:

- [ ] This is a task

So it’s hyphen → space → open square bracket → space → close square bracket → space → (text of task)
