What I’m trying to do

I’ve checked the forum and help docs and didn’t see anything about this but I could have missed it.
This may have been something I’ve check in settings and didn’t realize it because I don’t recall seeing it before this morning.
I’m new to Obsidian having just moved over from Joplin and have what may be a very simple question.

I just noticed that If I check off a item on the linux desktop appilcation it tacks on the date after the item. This date transfers over to the Android app. The date disappears when the item is unchecked.

However if the item is checked off on the Android app, no date appears.

My question is, is there any way to just turn off this functionality? I’d like the date to note appear at all?

This is what it looks like:

  • Whole Wheat Bread :white_check_mark: 2022-01-19
  • Desert
  • Croissants
  • Hotdog Buns
  • Hamburger Buns

Do you have the “Obsidian Tasks” community plugin enabled? This looks a lot like the behavior from it.

Thank you very much that was it. I had it enabled but hadn’t started using it yet.
