What I’m trying to do
Get Obsidian to display tags in reading view without the # - character in front
Tags are shown as “pills” but with the # sign in front. It’s “only” a consmetic problem, but annoying. Tags function as tags and are clickable.
The display has been normal without the “#” till recently, but then changed without me modifying anything counsciously.
things I have tried:
- safe mode with community plugins deactivated
- check with different themes
- triple check the plugin settings of the style settings plugin, specially for “tags”
- create a new test Vault
- uninstall and reinstall Obsidian
- check with ChatGPT and Gemini which both “guesssed” around the issue adn came up with various not working ideas.
All has failed to fix the issue.
As it has worked previously, it should still work but it doesn’t.
