Cases in latex not working properly

Steps to reproduce

  1. write the equation as follows
    $$\begin{cases} number 1 \ number 2 \end{cases}$$

Expected result

It must show a curly bracket followed by number 1 and number 2 in separate lines

Actual result

curly brace is adjusting its size but number remain in the same line

earlier it was working but not now.

Environment

  • Operating system: Windows 10
  • Obsidian version: 0.12.19

I think it is the problem of the newer version of mathjax and not the obsidian as pointed out by @SkepticMystic

The newer version 3.0 does not support it but 2.0 does.

The problem has been solved but I donot know what may have caused it I just reinstalled the latest version
