+1 for this! Would be super helpful when I’m outlining my programming tasks
Really need this! +1
+1; the Obsidian Collapse Node plugin works but it applies itself to every card, which is annoying.
The Collapse Node plugin does not collapse groups, afaik. This request is about collapsing groups. I kind of doubt it will ever be implemented, given its age.
+1 for this too!
Really need this! +1
Thank you @WhiteNoise for listing this as a feature for implementation. This I too will vote as an important one. Canvas has quite a useful functionality with the ability to link to the materials within the vault. Having the ability to hide/see just like in a mind-map makes it effective in seeing the overview and the details as it is necessary.
Both methods @RoyRogers suggested are very nice and useful
- Collapse by the branch: Canvas: collapsable groups
- Collapse by the group: Canvas: collapsable groups - #3 by RoyRogers
Would be really useful to have both.
Much appreciated.
+1 vote. Thank you!
Check out the Advanced Canvas plugin. It features collapsible groups. Disclaimer: I’m the developer of the plugin.
Yes pleased to this, for me it’s the only thing that separates me using this from simple mind.
NM, missposted in wrong FR
This would also be my number one feature reaquest that would propel obsidian to a new level of ease of use.
It would make a huge difference in a Canvas Experience and Usability
Please consider it making as core feature in Obsidian
To fold/unfold headers is a basic feature of Obsidian, to hide sections and focus better on the info we are looking for, folding is basically a way to search valuable information and block out the rest
If you use Obsidians Canvas as a tool for research, then you need a way to fold cards, not just to de-clutter and keep the overall board manageable, but also to focus on particular branches that you’re following.
If all cards are open all times, you lose the orientation where to continue your research from last time. Not all branches are relevant all times.
I appreciate plugins like advanced canvas, however folding groups and single cards should be a core feature
