Cant open new notes, move images to attachments and play around with obsidian

i formatted my pc and now i cant use obsidian anymmore

this show when i try to open a new note

Have a search in the forum here for the EPERM error. It tends to be a permissions issue. i.e., Obsidian can’t read/write to that location for some reason.

can u help me with specific solutions or do i need to search? btw i formatted my computer and saved the obsidian folder, an in fresh windows i loaded that folder and i cant rlly do nothing with it

I’m not using a Windows device at the moment to double-check the default permissions, but usually you want to keep user data in the user’s home directory and not in C:\Program Files.

Try creating the vault in C:\Users\YOUR-USERNAME\vault123
