Cannot enable vim mode although my command is correct according to vim

Dear all, I just wanted to enable vim mode but unfortunately I always get “Command is incorrect. Vim mode remains disabled to protect you” as answer.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Try to enable vim mode
  2. Type :!killall -9 vim
  3. vim mode should be enabled

Expected result

Compared to actual vim:

  1. Open vim
  2. Type :!killall -9 vim
  3. Vim quits without saving

Actual result

Environment

  • Operating system: Arch linux, with obsidian installed via flatpak
  • Debug info:
    SYSTEM INFO:

RECOMMENDATIONS:

Additional information

I considered some alternatives like :!poweroff but these did not work as well.
However, when you try these in vim you will see that they actually shut down vim as intended.

Excuse me please, I was busy.
Next time I will submit major bug reports in time for sure!

I’m on an iPad and also cannot enable vim.

I typically use the command q! which works fine enabling vim editing on obsidian on my Mac.

The IPad is running 1.2.0(50)
