- Go to Community Plugins.
- Turn on community Plugins if not already.

Did you follow the troubleshooting guide? [Y/N]
Yes. Other than searching for previous solutions most of this doesn’t apply since what im experiencing deals directly with getting plugins in the first place.
Expected result
Visiting community plugins should show me a list of plugins. Visiting Appearance < Manage Themes, should list themes.
Actual result
Visiting community plugins prompts “Failed to load community plugins”
Visiting themes prompts “Could not load community themes, please check your network.”

Additional information
I don’t know the root cause for this so any further troubleshooting steps are welcome. The desktop version works under same network conditions so I’m not sure whats going on there.
Things I’ve tried
- Visiting various links provided in a separate bug report within Firefox.
- Using a different network(wifi networks and mobile data)
- ISPs are DQE and Segra which I’ve tried both connections separately.
- Mobile data goes through AT&T.
- Enable/Disable Data Saver.
- Enable/Disable Private DNS. (one.one.one.one)
- Disable VPN to my local network.
- Enabling Proton VPN which routed my traffic to Japan. (I’m based in the US)
- Reinstalling the app through the play store.
- Reinstalling the app through github.
- Installing older versions through github. (1.8.10, 1.7.7)
Still an issue.
Additionally I have tried
- Deleting workspace-mobile.json and app.json letting the app repopulate those files.
- Clearing cache & storage. (This required making a new vault as well but no impact on the issue)
Not really sure what else to do beyond wiping the phone completely or seeing if it works after installing lineage os.
I think this is a problem that is specific to your phone. I am not sure there’s anything we can do in this case.
I assume you’ve tried restarting the device, but I don’t see it in your lists of things you’ve tried, so I’ll suggest that.
Good catch! I’m pretty sure I did try restarting at one point or another but for the sake of completeness I just did and sadly it wasn’t that easy of a fix.
If nothing else thats understandable. I agree with WhiteNoise in that this is very likely specific to my device but as to why that remains unclear. (I’d imagine if it wasn’t it we’d see a lot more people coming out of the woodwork to report this)
Updated to 1.10.3 (251) and community plugins are fixed on my mobile phone. I can only assume that the insider build 1.10.2 that fixed this issue for most LATAM users also applies to my case. I spoke too soon actually I can now view the plugins list however any attempt at downloading/installing a plugin refreshes the screen and issues a popup at the bottom noting “Failed to install plugin “Plugin name””
is it possible that you installed something on your phone that blocks some traffic?
Are you using a custom rom?
Hi,
I was also facing a similar issue. I was able to see the community apps but I get “failed to install plugin” error on any of the plugins. So, I did update and force stop the application, but didn’t work.
Fortunately, restarting the device fixed it.

The only app that blocks any kind of traffic would be firefox with ublock origin. I do regularly use applications that reroute traffic(ubiquiti’s teleport vpn, wireguard, and so on) and while I doubt they impact traffic for obsidian I disabled them in the past.
As for custom roms the answer was originally no, however, that changed last night when I got annoyed by the issue again. Needless to say wiping and reflashing with lineageos did fix the issue however, I wouldn’t recommend anyone reading this to take such a drastic action without hefty consideration. (This was something I was already planning and my device stops receiving official updates in around a year anyways.)
If nothing else this thread does serve as a great list of searchable troubleshooting steps for anyone with a similar issue.
