Can you only display footnotes in reading view?

I use live-preview mode and I avoid switching between reading and editing mode.

Is ist possible do show footnotes in live-preview mode without switching to reading mode? Just like with internal links where you don’t see the square brackets all the time, but only when you move the mouse over them. And they also work in editing mode without having to switch to reading mode.

No, unfortunately footnotes don’t render in Live Preview. There are a couple of plugins that make it easier to use footnotes; I use Obsidian footnotes when I’m working on something that needs them.
