Other note taking apps like Notion and Mem offer the ability to record notes via the transcript created during a Zoom or Google Meets session. Don’t know whether this capability already exists within Obsidian (if it does, I don’t see it) and none of the plugins appear to provide this feature. This would be SO valuable in convincing me to make Obsidian my only note taking app I use!
Are you looking for audio recording, audio transcribing, or transcript copying?
- Obsidian has a built in audio recorder (you may need to enable it in Settings > Core plugins). I don’t know if it will work for Zoom calls.
- Obsidian can’t transcribe on its own. I think there are plugins that can do it, and you can always use a separate app (on Apple devices, the built in Voice Memo app can transcribe speech).
- If Zoom or Meets makes a transcript, you can copy and paste that into a note (unless they somehow prevent copying).
I’ll try the audio recorder you mention and see if it will record Zoom sessions. I know most audio recorders can create transcripts of meetings you participate on, but cannot record Zoom sessions yet.
