Can not get Outliner to work INSIDE of canvas cards

What I’m trying to do

I’m trying to create bullet outlines inside a canvas card with proper vertical lines, indentation for sublevels, and links to other notes. It will create a bullet point but it breaks after EVERY key. The bullet points do not continue onto the next line. Also, I can’t use to indent a level, it just breaks to a new line.

The outline function works just fine in normal MD files. This is only happening inside Canvas cards.

Things I have tried

I did copy and paste an outline with embedded links from another plain md file. The formatting was properly maintained with the vertical indention lines, subsections, and links. I tried to see if I could continue off this list after pasting it into a canvas card; it just broke again as before.

I am using the community plugins: Outliner and Advanced Canvas.

Have you tried it without those plugins?

I have no issues writing nested bullet lists in a Canvas card. It works fine, including Tab to indent/outdent bullets.

EDIT: Moving lines up and down with keyboard also works without any additional plugin. I have manually defined these hotkeys in Obsidian:
