Can I set "split right" to open an empty note rather than duplicate existing note?

I use split right most often to create a new note, white the existing note stays open.
But everytime I hit “split right”, my existing note opens again in the right pane. Is there a setting somewhere where I could say: whenever I use “split right” open a new empty note instead?

There’s a command Create note to the right. You could give that a try.
