Same here, on samsung z fold 4, samsung keyboard, google voice typing
+1
Would love this to be fixed. As Digger says Gboard is awful, voice typing from better keyboards would be a huge UX improvement.
(Google voice typing isnât great compared to speechnotes etc. but thatâs another story.)
Meanwhile, Voice typing via Yandex works pretty well.
This is still happening. From my simplistic observation, it seems to me that when Obsidian detects a keyboard closing, it discards the editing field focus. You can observe this by the text cursor disappearing any time you hide a keyboardâANY keyboard. Thus, when something tries to switch from one keyboard to another, such as when you activate voice typing, the new keyboard finds thereâs nothing to enter text into and immediately closes.
Still a problem with Samsung keyboard when using googles voice to text.
will be fixed 1.8.10 No ETAs

Thats great to hear, tx. Im sure several of us in this thread will be happy to run tests for you.
fyi, voice-to-text still breaks in Android 13/Xiaomi Redme10Pro with Swiftkey as the default keyboard. It may launch the first time after you first open Obsidian, but after that it seems to âslip behindâ the Obsidian interface and is therefore inaccessible.
I just thought Id pop by to confirm that the Swiftkey/Voice-to-text issue seems to be fixed. Well done to all who made this happen.
I havenât yet tested in Gboard but that wasnât causing problems for me before, though some reported it too had this issue.
FYI, Im now testing a new Android keyboard called Futo, which is in alpha version, and already seems very good. Its very privacy focused, and works well so atm Id recommend you try it. You can download from Fdroid if you prefer.
