Do you have this problem on iOS or macOS?
If it’s ios, no need for further proof.
Thanks for the prompt response - it’s iOS (iOS 17.1.2) on my iPhone 11 Pro, and same issue on my iPad.
Not an issue on my MacBook.
I can also reproduce this with a long markdown note with the latest version on iOS on my iPhone 12 mini. In addition to that, when I navigate to the References heading, you can see that the viewport jumps to somewhere else entirely.
I am impressed by how well Obsidian performs other than this on large files, and it’s the whole reason I want to use it. I’d say this isn’t a minor bug.
Also, I am happy to provide this markdown file if it will help debug.
Here is the note I was using: rust.md (25.7 KB)
Happens with me as well.
This is also a regular issue for me on the iOS app. I use Obsidian often and most of my notes require scrolling; I deal with the issue every time I use the app. I would also consider this a major issue for me. The Reading View workaround is helpful. I hope the original bug is resolved at some point.
Bumping this – happens constantly with a long note on iOS, even in a sandbox vault with one note.
Here’s the video. Note contains 4,722 words, 30,199 characters, 21 backlinks and 14 properties.
+1
Any long notes, even those with simple te t content, suffer from this behavior.
iPhone 11, iOS 17.6.1 (21G93)
Still an issue and still hoping for a proper fix!
I’m currently using the workaround where I toggle to reading view when u need to scroll. It’s really annoying…
