**Subject:** Canvas Bug - Unable to create connected cards by dragging arrow (macOS)
***
Hello Obsidian Support Team,
I’m experiencing a critical bug in Canvas that prevents me from creating connected cards using the drag-and-drop arrow feature [1].
## Problem Description
When I drag an arrow from an existing card to an empty area to create a new connected card, the creation menu briefly flashes and immediately disappears [1]. No card is created and the connection is lost. This feature worked perfectly before but is now completely broken.
## Expected Behavior
1. Click on the edge of an existing card
2. Drag an arrow to an empty Canvas area
3. Release in the empty space
4. A context menu should appear to create a new card
5. The new card should be automatically connected with an arrow [1]
## Actual Behavior
The menu appears for a split second, flashes, then vanishes immediately [1]. The feature is unusable.
## System Information
**Debug Info:**
[Paste your debug info here - Get it by: Cmd+P > “Show debug info” > Copy to clipboard]
**Additional Details:**
- Operating System: macOS ]
- Obsidian Version:
- Installer: [DMG/App Store]
## Steps to Reproduce
1. Open any Canvas
2. Create or select a card
3. Click on the card’s edge (connection point appears)
4. Hold and drag an arrow toward empty space
5. Release the click
6. Observe the menu disappearing immediately
## Tests Performed
Restarted Obsidian
Tested in Restricted Mode (all plugins disabled) - issue persists
Updated to latest version (1.11+) [2]
Restarted computer
Verified macOS permissions
## Video Demonstration
I’ve attached a video (1003144454.mp4) showing the exact problem.
## Additional Context
This appears similar to the macOS Sequoia bug reported here: Canvas: Dragging from nodes doesn't create new cards [3]
Interestingly, this feature works correctly on iPad, confirming it’s a macOS-specific issue [1].
Please let me know if you need any additional information to help resolve this issue.
Thank you for your assistance.
Best regards,
