Base View Plugin Pre-Release: Branches (Beta)
A set of Gantt Chart and Timeline Views for Obsidian Bases. (BCE and Fuzzy Date Support)
What it Does
Interactive Tree, Mind Map, and DAG View for Obsidian Bases.
Branches adds a “Tree” view to Obsidian’s built-in Bases feature, turning flat note collections into navigable, interactive hierarchies. Think family trees, org charts, project breakdowns, taxonomies, or any structure where notes have parent-child relationships.
The plugin draws capabilities from visual mind-mapping tools like MindNode, XMind, Scapple, and Miro, aiming to combine the spatial freedom of a canvas with the structured clarity of an outliner, all inside the Obsidian vault with no data lock-in.
Full Features List is available at the Github Repo. (Will add the link to the Github Repo here once given approval by moderators). In the interim, a few screenshots below:

Feedback
Would especially appreciate feedback on:
- How well it performs under pressure. It’s been tested using 300 files at a time, and so far so good, but that was in a clean, controlled Obsidian Vault.
- How well it works and plays with other Obsidian plugins. Conflicts?
- Cross-platform testing: Works on macOS, iOS, and iPadOS, reports from Windows and Linux users would be helpful.
Known Limitations
- Embedded Views do not render at all.
- Still needs Accessibility Support
- Keyboard Support needs work
Thanks for any feedback. Happy to answer questions here or on GitHub.
