Steps to reproduce
- Launch Obsidian on an Android device with a 1:1 aspect ratio (my device is a Unihertz Titan Pocket)
- Edit a document. This may take a few tries. Important to note that a small virtual keyboard for emojis etc pops up on my device when text input is activated, so the aspect ratio changes to slightly flatter than 1:1.
- Observe the bar disappearing.
Did you follow the troubleshooting guide?
Yes! No change in behavior.
Expected result
Ideally the bottom bar would be present at all times, but I’d be ok with it reappearing when I stop editing text.
Actual result
The bottom bar disappears until the app is restarted. It seems to be reverting to desktop behavior in some way. I can’t get the bar back even if I activate the mode that letterboxes to a more standard mobile aspect ratio.

Additional information
I know it’s a really weird aspect ratio, but Obsidian works so great on a mobile device with a physical keyboard except for this, which especially makes tabs so much harder to use! I wouldnt mind having a setting to force the bottom bar to always appear, but there’s probably a more elegant solution. thank yall very much, love this app so much!
