Making selection around tables shows a vertical blinking line to the right or left of the table.

Were you able to reproduce it?

I am able to reproduce. However I am not even sure I consider this a bug.
The cursor is necessary to indicate that if you do press backspace, you’ll delete the selection.

I think something similar happens with images.
