Best way to import kindle highlights from non-amazon books?

What would you guys say is the best way to importing kindle highlights of non-amazon books to obsidian? I haven’t quite found a good solution yet.

I would rather avoid using readwise since I don’t want to pay $8 a month since I’m a broke student haha

I think you’ll find this tool useful:

Have you looked at Clippings.io? You can upload the clippings.txt file from your Kindle and it will extract the highlights. I don’t find it to be quite as elegant as Readwise, but it will get the job done.

+1 for clippings.io

It is a decent and free service which I use as well.

You can use the Kindle Highlights plugin to sync your highlights from Amazon or your local My Clippings.txt file (for non-Amazon books).

The plugin is free and open source.
