Best way to check a box (checklist)

I want to add checkboxes to my Daily Notes and possibly other notes and be able to check and uncheck those boxes.

What’s the easiest, quickest way to do so, without having to write a 3 or 4 character code each time?

u can use keyboard shortcut Ctrl Enter on any line (with or without existing text). it will cycle through checkbox:uncheck and checkbox:checked

Is there a way to filter all checked or unchecked boxs? Would you recommend it as a good way to use Obsidian for task management? (I’m trying not to create another convoluting task management system)

well i don’t really use task management in obsidian, i use it mostly for weekly checklist and notes checklist (on the structure i want to expand/complete). but i’m aware of few good ways to do so in obsidian (other who come across, do chip in).

• Task query in Dataview plugin (Queries - Dataview (blacksmithgu.github.io))
  • this help you to aggregate checkboxes (either checked or unchecked)
• Obsidian Tasks plugin (Introduction - Obsidian Tasks (schemar.github.io))
  • this similar to Dataview plugin but focuses a lot more on tasks management
