Bases with Folder Notes

I’ve not paid much attention to Tags, Properties and Dataview
because I was waiting to see how Bases turned out.
In the meantime I’ve developed a way of working based on Lost Paul’s Folder Notes.
Basically everything starts as a single note until it.

  1. Wants to be a collection
  2. Or have attachments
  3. Or become a Map of Contents

Then I turn it into a Folder Note,
with everything that pertains to it going into the same folder.
I have new notes set to be created in the same folder as the current note
so that works well -
I mainly create new notes by linking from the appropriate folder note.
But sometimes I forget
Especially when I move a note or folder in or out.

The plugin allows me to go up the file tree
(where each folder has a its own folder note)
By clicking on a folder in the file path displayed above.
I now have all my browsable files in a Home folder
(with its own folder note)
that serves as the root.
(You can’t create a folder note for the vault itself)

Each folder note has links to the notes and folder notes in its folder.
Here are the relevant base filters which display the note base names in card view

For notes:

file.folder == (this.file.folder) \ only files directly in the same folder
file != this.file \ exclude the folder note
! this.file.hasLink(file) \ and any links it displays elsewhere

For folder notes:

file.basename == (file.folder.split("/")[-1]) \ only notes with the same name as their folder
   this.file.basename == file.folder.split("/")[-2] \ in a direct subfolder of this one.
