Bases: Limit scope for bases to single/list of directory

Use case or problem

Created a note, noticed that my .base file included it in items list.

Proposed solution

Provide the ability to limit a .base file to only look withing a single directory, list of directories, or only files with a certain tag

Current workaround

Add a tag that defines the view scope, then filter only notes that contain that tag

Bases: Default Folder

I think a base already can automatically create items in the specific folder if you add this folder to the filters. But a defaul folder to create the base files themselves is indeed much needed. The only workaround right now is to create a base by right-clicking on the folder in file manager, but it is not always convenient.

It’s already possible. You need to use global filters for this.

Noticed that you can achieve this after posting using something like is shown in the attached picture (second formula), where in my case “Busbar Joggler (263730)” is the folder name that contains all items to be associated to the .base file. While this works as requested, I think this functionality should be promoted as I can see it being used quite often.
