Base views as tabs?

Base views as tabs?

Use case or problem

Drop down menu for Bases not very practical.

Proposed solution

Can we see the bases as tabs. Vertical approach would be better for the user.

Also that tab style view may be embedded in posts too.

All views as vertical tabs with dynamic width. Or just selected ones.

That was my favourite combo too! Oh, those were the days. That 1.0.1 was awesome on 1.5.8. Brings back memories.

MacOS my platform. Actually, my goal is not like that. I need to be clear.

Possible use case: In the Base file. Like in the image, quick view changes. I want to look other views faster.

Another use case: Dynamic linking views to other files. I want to see link heavy files links with seperated views.

Yeap, you can make these views in different panes, but embed feature far better. I don’t want to use other views always. View area is limited on screens.

I use tabs to see different views of the same Base. I know I can use the dropdown function In Bases but I already use Tabs panel and find it aesthetically more pleasing. I would like to see a way one can lock in different views of one base, depending on the tab I am in, vs. creating separate bases to have different views.

I’d love to see this as well, however seems there is a decision about this already:

Soo, look like we will wait a plugin for this feature.

A Reddit post also requesting this: Bases views as buttons : r/ObsidianMD

would love to see this update

Personally, I would prefer a two-column layout, with the list of views shown in a left sidebar, similar to what is commonly seen in task management apps.
That said, regardless of the exact layout, I would really welcome an option to keep the view list always visible.
