Automatically open linked PDFs in split view

What I’m trying to do

I link a lot of pdfs to my notes. I want for when I click on note with a linked pdf, that pdf opens in a split view with the note. Essentially, the equivalent to ctrl + alt clicking the pdf link or right clicking and opening to the right, except automatically upon opening any note with a linked pdf.

Things I have tried

I have attempted looking for plugins, searching forums, and going through settings but nothing seems to do what I am wanting.

This would take a plugin with a listener in it and I don’t see why anyone would want to build it. There is nothing really to gain.

Most people bring in the highlights of PDF’s anyway with Zotero Integration and other plugins because many PDF’s entail too much vault size and sync quota problems.
