Autocomplete List property type has stale data

What I’m trying to do

I’m playing with bases and have added a list type property called “location” I added “Home”, “Offiec”, “School” and hit enter. I deleted “Offiec” and added “Office” and now on new notes it gives me “Offiec” as a selection to choose from! I’d like to remove that!

Things I have tried

I searched the docs, forum and the web and this is a hard issue to search for as “autocomplete” is a big topic. I haven’t found anything relevant.

Go to Settings > Core plugins and enable Properties view.

Then use the command palette (CMD/CTRL + P if you have a keyboard, or pull down from the top on mobile) to select Properties view: Show all properties.

Find the property you want to delete, right click it, and choose Unassign type.

That should do it. But unassigning won’t work when:

  • you still have the property in any of your notes. The little number tells you how many notes it’s in. Click the property name to see a search result for those notes.
  • you still have the property in a canvas. In that case, the hunt is on to find and remove it.
