Auto pair single quotes after closing bracket disrupts possessive apostrophe

Steps to reproduce

Typing [[Luhmann]]'s produces [[Luhmann]]'s' - an auto-paired set of single-quotes instead of an apostrophe-“s” (for a possessive)

Expected result

The auto-pairing should not be triggered when the single quote immediately follows a ].

Environment

  • Operating system: macOS 10.15.7
  • Obsidian version: 0.10.1

Same, I noticed this as well when directly after ] and ) but not after [0-9a-Z] characters.

Same. Any workaround or change in settings for this?

Still a problem for me; no solution or workaround!

Type an apostrophe?

SHIFT OPT ]

  • OPT ] for left (opening) single quotation mark
  • SHIFT OPT ] for right (closing) single quotation mark or apostrophe
  • OPT [ for left (opening) double quotation mark
  • SHIFT OPT [ for right (closing) double quotation mark

it’s also on windows 11

On mobile I work around this by long-pressing apostrophe to select the one I want (when I remember), but it would be great to have this fixed.

will be fixed in v1.5. No ETAs

Awesome! It’s FIXED now in 1.5. My bug report was from December 2023, so this came in just under the three-year anniversary.
