Auto-formatting of table columns in Source mode (1.5.4)

I read the release notes for 1.5.4 and was excited to try the autoformatting of table columns in Source mode…

I have been using Tony’s Advanced Tables plugin forever for mainly this feature, so having that baked into the editor natively would be great. Am I misunderstanding this feature? When I tried it, it did not seem to be functional…

Tables created with the new table editor will be properly formatted when viewed in source mode.

There have been no changes to the behavior in source mode.
