I would love to see Obsidian integrate with Apple’s App Intents framework.
As someone who manages a massive, deeply personal vault, having system-level integration would be a game-changer. Adopting App Intents would allow Siri to have onscreen awareness and execute complex actions directly within our vaults using natural language (e.g., “Add a link to the note I’m looking at to my Daily Note” or “Find my journal entry about…”).
With the latest OS updates focusing heavily on these deep app integrations, having Obsidian “Siri-ready” would elevate the app’s powerful local-first philosophy to the next level on Apple devices. Hopefully, the dev team can look into adopting these schemas!

iOS 27 Siri AI integration via App Intents / App Entities
Use case or problem
With the new Siri AI capabilities in iOS 27, I’d love to be able to interact with Obsidian more naturally through Siri — for example, asking Siri to find or reference a note, create a note, append something to an existing note, or otherwise work with content in my vault.
My understanding is that Apple’s newer Siri integrations allow apps to expose their content and actions to the system in a much deeper way than before. Obsidian seems like an especially interesting fit for this, since so much of its value comes from having a personal knowledge base that you can quickly retrieve from and add to.
Proposed solution
Would the Obsidian team consider supporting the new Siri AI integration APIs in iOS 27, such as App Intents and App Entities?
Ideally, this could allow Siri to understand Obsidian notes as content it can reference and to perform supported Obsidian actions through natural-language requests.
I’m mainly curious whether this kind of integration is already being considered or is something that might be on the roadmap.
Current workaround (optional)
As a partial workaround, I currently use Siri Shortcuts to sync certain Obsidian notes into Apple Notes so that Siri can access them there.
This works for some basic use cases, but it requires duplicating content and doesn’t give Siri native access to my Obsidian vault, notes, or Obsidian-specific actions.

I second this. That would be amazing.
It depends of the amount of work required to the app for a single operating system, and currently only one version of an operating system.
It takes all of 1-2 minutes to create shortcut automations that do pretty much anything one can imagine in Obsidian.
Why not have interested macOS/iOS community members host a repository of shortcuts for others to use, like https://routinehub.co or Shortcuts Library – Matthew Cassinelli?

Integrating Obs with Apple OS27 App Intents/App Schemas seems to me to be a ‘Stop The Presses’ moment for the Obsidian Dev Team. Never mind a Shortcuts or some MCP(?) solution. This needs to be a Core Plugin!!! YMMV.
A core plugin for a percentage of users based on OS (Only macOS can take advantage), plus a percentage of Mac users who run Golden Gate?
Sounds like a good candidate for the distant future, not a “stop the presses” level of criticality for a small portion of users running an operating system that’s been out a for a week.
I’d rather see the Obsidian team focus on current issues that affect everyone.
This feature would be huge. Today, Obsidian users need to also use Apple Notes for Siri AI integration, which means duplicating information, or partitioning and deciding where information should live.
This isn’t ideal for Obsidian: enough friction is introduced into the workflows of Siri AI users that they may consider using Apple Notes or another competing product instead of their otherwise excellent default answer to “where does this information live” for several years.
It may not be obvious to people on other platforms, but Siri AI is the baked-in, private, interface for macOS/iOS 27+ users to rapidly query their devices. For those of us who try to offload as much as we can to our digital notebooks, this is a killer feature: “Hey Siri, what were the details of that meeting last Tuesday” is vastly more ergonomic than configuring MCP, an agent, and a plugin to retrieve the same information from Obsidian. It’s infinitely safer if one needs to find information while driving.
Obsidian team: please, please implement this.
