Any alternative to Tables Extended plugin

Good evening. Is there any alternative to Tables Extended plugin by aidenlx? https://github.com/aidenlx/table-extended

The plugin has not been updated in ages, has some errors and no viable forks. I am specifically looking for a plugin that enhances table functionality with Multimarkdown Syntax.

I don’t know of any such plugin, but if it’s just the merging function you want, Sheets basic is what I use.

It’s a fork of Sheets Extended, and not available on the store, so you have to use BRAT.

I found Sheets-Extended - Advanced Tables XT on the store. Is there another Sheets extended plugin ?

Just corrected the link, yes that’s the plugin I mentioned.

It has the issue of only rendering the merged cells in reading view or inside callouts. But the fork I linked above fixed that, while removing some functionalities I don’t care about.

Ok I will check it out. Is the fork under active development ? Or released and abandoned? With all of the changes to Obsidian lately, old and/or unmaintained plugins will surely have issues.

Last updated on Nov 2025, but it works exactly as advertised so no need for further updates.

I don’t think any future updates to Obsidian will break things unless they decide to overhaul tables themselves, so no worries for me.
