Use case or problem

I want to be able to add new commands to the mobile toolbar and change their icons. The first is achievable with commander, but setting the icon is a tedious process and I never suceed at it. On top of that, existing mobile icons are confusing, since many of them share the same icon (h1 to h6, cut and delete paragraph, to mention some)

Proposed solution

I want to be able to change the icons in the mobile toolbar.

There is a workaround, but I was never able to make it work, so I will not be explaining it

Currently, all commands that are added using “Add global command” in mobile show up as the same question mark icon. This makes it really difficult for users to identify what the icon does.

+1. I can’t distinguish between my toolbar icons because the community plugin commands show up as question marks… I’d like to be able to replace the icons.

I’ve found an alternative, which uses a plugin. I’m on my mobile phone now, will look for it later and post it

I’m using it too. I consider it overkill just to change icons.

IIRC you can also change change them with Commander - Obsidian Plugin . It wasn’t too intuitive, unfortunately.

Even if custom icons aren’t officially supported, it would be nice if at least the default icons were unique.

I tried using Commander, but it was not only counterintuitive, it was also failing after some time. Don’t ask me why, but after some open/close cycles the wrong icons were assigned to the wrong actions, and now it is just a guess work of what each icon is.

Yes, that was super annoying. I thought that would be fixed by now.
