I have created a homepage using the Homepage plugin, which relies on Canvas. It is a simple grid of text boxes showing various to-do notes, etc. When I created a new personal vault, I just made a copy of the homepage in my work vault, which was working fine. I have no idea what I did, but now three of my four text boxes have text that is centred, rather than being left-justified as I much prefer it.
Things I have tried
I have searched all of the various forums, including Discord, and I have scoured the settings and command options for both Homepage and Canvas. I even tried installing “Advanced Canvas,” which has more text-formatting options, but no commands for this plugin would appear in my Command palette. This is really a secondary mystery, which I don’t need to solve is someone can tell me what happened in the first case.
An explanation of sorts I can offer is that the centre alignment is default and you had used some CSS snippet on the first vault you didn’t copy over to and enabled in the second one.
Hard to know from here.
That would be the answer! I set up the first one ages ago, and I have a terrible memory for such things. Yet another reminder to always use that “Worflows” folder of mine to record any setup procedures! Thank you very much.
Yeah, what I do as well, for most things and record experiences, issues on various platforms. I hope to spend less time on this but in computing, things are changing fast and new ideas, workflows may take the place of old ones with new plugin store solutions emerging.
It’s like this with a one-employee company, having to split time between research, development and production.
Oh, and I should add that it wasn’t correct to say that the text is centred. The problem is that I am getting a large margin to the left. Having searched the forum with that in mind, I did make sure that “readable line length” is turned off in Editor.
Instead of trying to retrace your steps successfully setting up the first vault, you could try and fix the second one as if you saw the problem for the first time.
