After updating macOS Tahoe 26.2 to Unknown system error -81" readFileHandle errors

What I’m trying to do

Open my daily note template and other templates in my vault. I updated my Mac to macOS Tahoe 26.2 before opening obsidian. However, when I try to open the daily note template or other templates, Obsidian breaks and becomes unresponsive.

Things I have tried

When I open the developer console, I see these repeated errors: Error: Unknown system error -81: Unknown system error -81, read
at async readFileHandle (node:internal/origin…fs/promises:557:24)
Uncaught (in promise) Error:
Unknown system error -81: Unknown system error -81, read
at async readFileHandle (node:internal/origin…fs/promises:557:24)
I have tried to Disabled all community plugins to see whether the issue was caused by plugins and it still happened.
Restarted Obsidian and the issue was still present.

Hello everyone,

It turns out this weird issue was caused by needing to update certain permission settings on my Mac account after upgrading to Tahoe 26.2. Once I accepted the new terms and conditions and met the updated account requirements, everything started working again.

Really weird, but I hope this helps.
