Steps to reproduce

  1. Create a link via the [[ ]] markdown
  2. Complete creating the link
  3. Attempt to type or look for your mouse cursor

Expected result

Typing should resume and your mouse cursor should be where you last left off (preferably within the [[ ]] and not outside it so that you can issue the | if you want to abbreviate the link name)

Actual result

The cursor is nowhere on the note. You have to manually click on the note to bring the cursor back

  • Operating system: OSX
  • Obsidian version:0.6.0
  • Using custom CSS:No

By the way, when I used a custom css, the cursor is on the note as (somewhat) expected (the cursor is outside of the [[ ]]). See links below for the custom css that I added.

However, I do not think that this should be the expected result. The cursor should be inside the [[ ]] so that you can issue the | if you want to add a shortcut name.

If you click using the mouse, it will de-focus from the document. That’s a bug I should fix.

If you hit ENTER, it would complete the link and put your cursor after ]].

If you hit #, it will autocomplete, and insert #, then put your cursor before the ]].

In the upcoming release, you can also use | to autocomplete and stay inside ]].
