Advice on Sorting Media

What I’m trying to do

Use Case: Currently I copy/paste and insert various bits of media into my vault. Notably, I do quite a few screenshots of my screen and paste into Obsidian for quick reference. The result is a lengthy list of “attachments” at the highest level of my vault which is cumbersome.

Things I have tried

Currently I manually drag items into a folder I’ve created called “General Attachments”.

I’m curious what other people do. Is there a way to auto sort these items?

In Settings > File and links, you can set a default location for new attachments so you don’t have to manually drag them:

There are plugins to auto-name and move attachments based on rules, or to prompt you for a title and location. Type “attachment” into the community plugins search bar to browse them.
