Use case or problem
I want to set up a familiar and convenient navigation as in the editor I use (inkscape). There I control the idle using the scroll and keyboard shortcuts. I would like to be able to change the scroll settings for the canvas and for documents. What is the default is not suitable for me, I would like to change it. Other people are probably used to other programs (3d, 2d, and others). In addition, I have an mx master 3 mouse with a second wheel and I would like to configure its use for side scrolling. Others could change the scroll or zoom for themselves, side scrolling with one key, vertical scrolling with another key, zoom without keys… As an example. As far as I understand, people generally have problems with these settings, and they do not always work, even when changing the settings that are there. For example, when setting the canvas to zoom in, I lose the opportunity to scroll sideways, there is only the opportunity to scroll up / down. When setting up for my mouse, I could do without pressing an additional key at all. And some people have a trackball.
Proposed solution
Add in the settings the ability to customize scrolling with or without additional keys for the scrolling function. (zoom, scroll horizontally, scroll vertically). and check the operation on the mouse with an additional wheel. (perhaps the program should say that there are two multidirectional wheels, or a trackball.)
