Add file property greyed out

What I’m trying to do

Add/Modify file properties

Things I have tried

  • Sandbox Vault
  • Disable all community plugins

I’ve found a few references to this issue but they seem to have been due to a bug in v 1.4.x? I’m currently using 1.7.4.

Basically any method to add a file property simply doesn’t work. The option under ... is greyed out, ctrl+; doesn’t do anything and if i type --- at the top of a page it simply disappears.

I am having the exact same problem.

v.1.7.4

It worked once. Then, it never worked again on the original file or any additional file. It’s just greyed out, whether in Reading or Source view.

If I manually create the properties table (by using the three dashes method), I can create the table the old fashioned way, just not via context menu.

To both of you, what is your installer version? Are you perhaps on an older installer? (Just my first guess.)

What is the value of this setting for you?

I also have this issue. That setting is set to “Hidden”. The “Add file property” option in the context menu is grayed out unless that setting is set to visible. It’s grayed out in both hidden and source options. Is this a bug that should be put in the bug reports? I have properties view enabled and can add properties to the file using that, so why isn’t the context menu using that? Why have an entirely useless button for 2/3 modes?
