Add a do-it-yourself note, such as a forum, that displays the title as a do-it-yourself.

Like the obsidian community, here’s a screenshot.

I don’t understand. Anyone else who gets it?

Do you want a task note, with the title having a checkbox next to it?

You can link any note from a task list item:

- [ ] [[A thing I need to do]]

Actually, I was going to say the title.

I don’t fully understand, but you could try searching Community Plugins for “tasks” or “todo”/“to do”/“to-do”.

Ah, @Benjamin_Watson gave us screenshots of Joplin, so now I get it.

Joplin has a special type of note called a TODO. Essentially it’s a note that overall has a “TODO” and “DONE” status, which is reflected in a checkbox in the File Explorer.

So for Obsidian, a simple way to do this is to keep two special tags in the frontmatter for “TODO” and “DONE”. Then you can just use GitHub - mdelobelle/obsidian_supercharged_links: obsidian plugin to add attributes and context menu options to internal links to render specially in the File Explorer. You wouldn’t be able to quickly toggle from “TODO” to “DONE” so this could be a plugin idea.

Good eye! I thought it was just some special configuration of Obsidian.
