Use case or problem
Sometimes documentation is provided in PDF or JPEG format. Having the ability to manage and tag these binary based files in Obsidian would be nice.
Drag and drop the file from finder(macOS) or Explorer(windows) into a folder in the Obsidian File Explorer pane.
Current workaround (optional)
Your proposed solution is already a thing.
PDF’s and image files are already show by default in the file explorer.
You need to enable
Settings > Files & Links > Detect all file extensions to see others.
You can’t tag then though.
@jbcurtin: I think it’s better you use the software a bit and read the docs https://help.obsidian.md/Obsidian/Index.
Thank you @joethei . Not sure why I was having trouble with it. Thank you for the note.
