I’m aware that you can group nodes together and color them, however I would also like it if I could color the lines as well, and give each color a title. I’m not great at explaining my thoughts so bear with me. Also I’m still fairly new to Obsidian and am still exploring all of the features, so please tell me if there’s already a way, or a similar way to do this.
Now, for example, I’m using Obsidian to write a book, and so I have all of my characters planned out and graphed on graph-view.
Now let’s say I have a character named Susie and a character named Bob. Let’s say they are siblings and I want to show exactly how they relate, by just looking at the graph. I would want to color the line connecting them a custom color, and title it “family” or “siblings” or any sort of custom title. They would be groups, kind of like grouping the nodes, where every line with the name “family” would be the same color. Again, I’m terrible at explaining my thoughts, so I apologize, I hope this makes sense.
This could be beneficial for taking notes, as well. Let’s say I’m studying animals. I have a note for “Frogs” and a note for “Lakes.” I want to connect them with a green line and title it “Habitat,” so I know frogs live in lakes. Then maybe I connect “Frogs” to “Insects” with a red line titled “Diet.”
This way, just by looking at the graph, I can quickly understand how things are connected.
