I’ve had wikilinks on the past 2 years and generally felt like this was the way to go–simpler, neater and Obsidian needn’t work as hard to update paths as much.
Increasingly I have realized I’ve had a big change of heart: The full markdown link allows for much more flexibility as you can alter the link name easily and always be sure that if you commit your vault to Github, the links will actually work! Your folders will also be compatible if you sync with tools like WikiJS. To me, these advantages seem to really outweigh the brevity benefit of wikilinks.
I realize that Wikilinks does allow for name changing via the pipe method, I believe, but this is still not compatible when notes are synced with Git or other git-based tools.
