A backup plugin optimized for big vaults with an option to disable .zip and just copy the new and changed files "as they are" to one and the same backup folder

Hello!
This topic has been raised some time ago, but I decided to restructure the idea))

There have already been released some plugins designed for local backups, but…

  1. They use .zip or other archive formats which is bad, if some of your files have names that are ok for obsidian but can’t be used for archivators and you learn that when 90% of your giant vault is zipped…
  2. They have no progress bar, so you never know when the backup will be finished
  3. On big vaults they either crash or the process takes too much time (how much? Who knows, there is no progress bar…)
  4. Installing Git just to backup the Vault is too much))

Of course there are nice and free backup apps and tools, both for Windows and Linux, but yet…

So, the idea is as follows:

  1. You go to the “Cool Backup Plugin” settings
  2. And specify:
2.1. The path (USB flash drive, hard rive, cloud etc)
2.2. Do you need a .zip file or just want to copy files “as they are”
2.3. Filter - copy all the vault, copy only the new files and the files changed after previous backup and so on
2.4. How often should the backup work (direct command only, or when a usb drive with a specific name is in, every hour, when you close the app and so on)
  3. You are provided with backup hotkeys and ribbon icon
  4. When backup works, you see a progress bar and know exactly how much time is left
  5. You don’t need to install anything else for the plugin to work.
  6. A push message comes: You are a happy backup owner!

It could also be a nice Obsidian native feature)
Thanks a lot for your consideration!
