Physician/informatician/author, been using Markdown for my notes almost 16 yrs. Started in 2008 with Notational Velocity > nvAlt (2010) > nvUltra (2021).

Now trying out loving Obsidian (on Mac).

Current challenge is revising my 5000 notes so I can use them in both nvUltra and Obsidian.

  1. Removing # and ## from filenames (which I used for MOC and super-MOC notes). Swapping these out for q- and qq-, so q-2022.md instead of #2022.md – because [[#2022]] does not work in Obs. I used Finder to do that.
  1. Revising all [[wikilinks]] accordingly. If I can’t do this using a find/replace across all files in a folder (Atom? Hazel?), then I’ll have to write a python script to do it.

Still loving it. Started paying for Publish option in June, just to see how it works. Big tip: use the publish field in YAML.
