Wrong language in dictionary suggestions on macOS

What I’m trying to do

I have set macOS (12.2 Monterey) to spellcheck with “Automatic by Language”.

In Obsidian (13.23) the correct languages are identified but when I misspell something in English it recognizes the misspelling as a misspelled English word but then gives suggestions for corrections in Swedish.

Things I have tried

If I paste the same text into TextMate (also set to Automatic by Language) it works with no problem.

I’ve looked for settings in both macOS and Obsidian but can’t find anything relevant.

I have exactly the same problem with English and Dutch. The suggested corrections are words from the main system language not from the detected text language.
