Windows notepad like log book feature

In windows notepad if .LOG is written as the first line of a text file then the notepad puts a timestamp each time the file is opened.
A similar feature to record time stamp each time an entry (i.e. a paragraph may be) is made in a particular note that can be used as a log book note. Helps to maintain a bullet journal.

If it helps, a workaround may be using a text expander. Each time I write ddz espanso turn it into a time stamp.
