Window is blank in high sierra

Steps to reproduce

open the app

Did you follow the troubleshooting guide? [Y/N]

can’t access settings to enable restricted mode

Expected result

see the ui and content

Actual result

gray window for any vault or the open vault window

Environment

command-P does nothing

I’m on Mac OS 10.13.6, just upgraded Obsidian to 1.8.9 via the settings button.

ok trying that but apparently the latest version does not support High Sierra because I’m getting the verboten symbol over the Obsidian icon. And Releases · obsidianmd/obsidian-releases · GitHub doesn’t indicate which might’ve been the last version to support High Sierra?

EDIT: google gemini solved it, Obsidian 1.5.8 Desktop (Public) - Obsidian is the first one that didn’t support high sierra

Sorry, we do not support Mac OS 10.13.6. It was deprecated by electron a long ago.
As you have discovered, you can try to use an older version of the installer but at some point something is going to break for you.
