Steps to reproduce
In the Editor’s Live Preview Mode, clicking on either a callout or clicking on a link that points to another section of the document ([[#section]]
, just in case I don’t use the same wording) selects the whole callout or section.
Did you follow the troubleshooting guide? [Y/N]
Yes! I’ve tried this issue on both the Sandbox Vault, and on a freshly created Vault with no plugins, core or community, enabled. The issue is present in both scenarios.
Expected result
In both cases (callouts, sections), having a section of the document selected by clicking in the contents is a bit unexpected.
Callout: I would suggest to have the editor jump on the line/character where you clicked (Ideally, expecting the same behaviour as in Source Mode), without selecting all the callout text.
Section: Jumping to the document’s section is excpected, as it is currently behaving. Only the extra behaviour of having all it’s content and header selected is unexpected. Having the cursor, without any selection, on it’s the header line sounds like a good baseline as an expected behaviour.
Actual result
In both cases (callouts, sections), the whole callout or section is also selected, along with it’s current behaviour. This means we’re basically one keystroke away from accidentally deleting the section by typing a letter.
