What are the best delimiters that can be used to import data from another note app? I would like to use the pipe (|) as it doesn’t appear in any text, but don’t know what Obsidian accepts.

pipes are used for table column delimiters (also for link aliases)
*** and === are also out as they are used for markdown formatting
you can use --- but they are also used for YAML fences so don’t put these in the first line if you don’t want to insert frontmatter
otherwise you can use anything else, methinks
…the best delimiters would be individual md files?
