Ways to Transclude Notes Easier

What I’m trying to do

I use my daily notes as a way to quickly capture everything that happens and then I take notes on my daily notes later. I want to be able to quickly transclude parts of my daily notes into different notes without changing my daily note. I prefer to keep my daily notes unedited for context later, which is why I use transclusion instead of extraction.

Things I have tried

Currently, when I want to create a new note from my daily notes, I do the following:

  1. Open a new tab and create a new note
  2. name it something semi-appropriate (I usually do back and do this later)
  3. Create a link to the daily note in the new note
  4. use the arrow keys to scan the daily note again and look for the part of the note I want to transclude
  5. go back to reading my daily notes and repeat

It would be great if that process could turn into something like this:

  1. Highlight the text I want to transclude
  2. right click and select “transclude text into new note”
  3. create the new note, similar to when extracting notes
  4. insert transclusion into new file

Is there anything already out there that could get me close to this solution? Maybe something with Quick Add?

Maybe something like Carry Forward?

You can get most of the moving parts from this script, and just modify it to suite:

There’s possibly some useful comments in the links at the bottom too.
