Vim: Pressing Escape while in a note on the sidebar kicks focus back to middle notes instead of leaving insert mode

Steps to reproduce

  1. Enable vim mode in settings
  2. Drag a note into the sidebar, while keeping a note in the middle pane
  3. Enter insert mode with i
  4. Try to leave insert mode with Esc
  5. You are now in the middle focused note, instead of staying in the sidebar but switching to normal mode

Expected result

I should stay in the note I was editing, but leave insert mode back into normal mode.

Actual result

I am kicked to the middle note, and the sidebar note stays in insert mode if I focus it again.
